Kriya Meditation Technique
Kriya meditation is a yoga technique that is aimed at clearing your mind from the distractions of the body and all thoughts of the mind so that you are able to reach out to what is known as your ‘life force’ to connect with pure awareness of your spirit and the spirit of life. The idea of Kriya meditation is to learn techniques that will ultimately let you reach the highest level of yoga that is possible.
Although Kriya meditation does make use of breathing exercises, many people misunderstand and think that the careful breathing is the aim of Kriya meditation, which it is not. Centralized breathing techniques are simply used in Kriya meditation to help you calm down your centralized nervous system and to bring balance to your body. Medically, you can understand this because if your breathing is regulated many of the other functions of your body will become regulated as well although it is unknown rather the creators of Kriya meditation were aware of this principle or simply used it.
People who practice Kriya meditation as a yoga technique are hoping to balance their souls so their minds can start to grow and gain awareness to the world around them unpolluted by any outside distractions. If you are able to reach the highest level of Kriya meditation you should not be bothered or disturbed by physical responses such as excretion or hunger, because your body has shut down while your inner consciousness remains open.
In a sense, if you practice Kriya meditation correctly you will be alive as if in a dreamlike state as the world around you ceases to affect or alter your thoughts and state of mind. It is only in this simplified state that people are thought to be able to realize and comprehend the higher truths of life.
