Osho Meditation
Osho meditations are not the traditional sitting down and doing nothing meditations but rather the opposite. Osho meditation try to reach a level of peace and harmony through a series of meditation exercises. The basic philosophy is that by using chaotic meditation techniques enables a person to “feel” then to “think”. Constant movement and reaction of the body free up emotions in your heart, which the brain has dominated. When chaos is created the brain stops working which enables the body to be free.
There are eight different types of active meditations which are dynamic, kundalini, nataraj, nadabrahma, gourishankar, mandala, whirling, and no dimensions. Dynamic meditation is a series of vigorous breathing, vibrating, and jumping to be one with your body. The second aspect of dynamic meditation is cathartic where the person must feel inhibited, unburdened, with extreme, vigorous movements of the body. There are five different stages lasting a total of one hour.
Kundalini consists of shaking out the body in more of a relaxing state. This is very calm compared to the dynamic meditation. This only lasts one hour with four different stages.
Nataraj is three stages long lasting sixty-five minutes consisting of dancing, laying down, dancing in celebration.
Nadabrahm is also three stages and last for one hour and consists of sitting and humming, with movement of the hands, and finally sitting still.
Gourishankar is four stages fifteen minutes each consisting of sitting still in a chair, staring at a candle, standing in place and allow your body to move which way it wants, and laying down.
Mandala is also four stages and hour long consisting of running in place, sitting Indian style and rotate your body, lying down on your back with your eyes open rotating them back and forth, and finally laying still.
Whirling is only two stages an hour long which consists of putting your arms at shoulder height and gradually spin around faster and faster and then lay on your stomach when the music stops and lay completely still.
No dimensions is three stages an hour long with the first stage being thirty minutes called Sufi Movements, this is a six-step series of movements. Next is whirling and finally lying on your stomach in silence for the final fifteen minutes.

Focus on your breathing in and out for a few minutes at a time and try to think of nothing else.
Try dancing for a few minutes and loose yourself in the music, this will release stress.
Start laughing and create a giggle while you visualize yourself and a small child.
Lay down on the floor on your stomach in silence, naked if you want to be dedicated.
Like many other forms of meditation Osha meditation is to improve the quality of a person’s life. While it may not be for everyone it is one more option to choose from in creating a more fulfilled and satisfied way of living.
